The approval of IRC was given by the Ethical Review Board [ERB) of Nepal Health Research Council INHRC) on 21 March 2018. The function of SCoT IRC are as follows:
- Review and Approval of Research Proposals
- Facilitate Ethical Clearance for Student Projects
- Ensure Participant Safety and Rights
- Monitor Ongoing Research
- Evaluate Risks and Benefits
- Promote Ethical Awareness
- Maintain Records and Documentation
- Handle Complaints and Non-compliance
- Formulate Institutional Ethical Policies
- Liaise with External Regulatory Bodies
